Sprint events? Burndown charts? Team members? Jira? Product Owner? Management? KPIs? Where should a Scrum Master who’s new to a team (and not necessarily new to experience) begin?
It can be confronting to get to know a team and an organisation anew, while being asked to simultaneously challenge them to be high performing and agile, all under the guidance of a framework that is new to everyone (possibly even yourself) - and therefore equally difficult to know where to focus.
My years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, and Professional Scrum TRAINER have not taken this conundrum away; but I HAVE learned what are ideal places to start, red flags to watch out for, and most importantly how to manage my own growth in the team - all of which allow me today to feel a little less overwhelmed and a lot more empirical in how I start working with teams and organisations.
In this Q&A style webinar I’d like to share what I’ve learnt, but also to pick your brains about what has and has not worked for you. This will also be a great way for you to understand whether the globally recognised Professional Scrum Master™ (PSM) course from (Scrum.org) coming up on (1st-2nd December, AEDT) and the related Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification are the next best steps for your journey as a Professional Scrum Master.
I’m really excited about this opportunity to help each other apply Scrum!
